This set of three gouges was purchased in London England in the 1960s and rarely used. Spending most of their lives wrapped in a British Newspaper. These rare gouges feature beautiful fine grained European boxwood handles and superior quality hand forged extra long high carbon tool steel blades. Included in the set are 3 sizes of gouge. The smallest measures approximately 1\/4\" wide, the middle size has an approximately 1\/2\" wide flute and the largest measures approximately 15\/16\" wide. The shortest gouge measures approximately 13-1\/4\" long overall and the longest is approximately 15\" overall in length. All of the gouges will need a proper sharpening. The small gouge will need to have more attention as the edge has a fingernail profile instead of the usual square edge. Perhaps the previous owner had a special application. The middle sized gouge has some very light pitting on both the inside and outside of the last 1\/4\" -  5\/16\" of the blade. \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eThese are all beautiful tools and very hard to find.
