It merged with the George Scherr company to become Scherr-Tumico. Scherr-Tumico was never widely known like Starrett or Mitutoyo because they concentrated on domestic US sales and mostly to the US government. Their tools have always been the equal of of the other US makers such as Brown and Sharpe or Starrett and had prices to match.

Scherr-Tumico closed in 2018.

Because the majority of their production was for the US government and military it was made to very strict standards of quality and precision.

This hook rule features premium quality spring tempered tool steel with deeply machined graduations ( not just painted on like cheaper models) and a satin chrome finish. The heavy duty sliding hook can be slid to one side or the other so all 4 sides can be used. Very useful as the hook automatically registers the zero point against the end or edge of the workpiece allowing much more accurate measurements to be taken.

Graduated in 32nds, 64ths, 5oths and 100ths.

This is a premium quality beautifully made tool.

Comes in a protective place sleeve. The sleeves have started to crack and perish after decades of storage. The rules are however new and perfect!

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0565/1778/7844/files/IMG_2684_061364ee-eb93-47c0-bf7d-ac90e015bd65.jpg?v=1791556817
https://cardontools.com/products/new-old-stock-scherr-tumico-usa-made-300mm-metric-toolmakers-hook-rule-copy
