The steel is premium quality high carbon steel that sharpens easily and holds an edge very well. This knife features an approximately 3 \" large blade and a smaller approximately 2-1\/2\" sheets foot blade for fine work. The handle is of highly polished and very lovely jigged bone and German silver ( German silver does not contain actual silver) . The liners and the pins are brass. The knife is beautiful and a pleasure to behold and to hold .
