New Old Stock 1980s Vaco BD310 USA Made BULL DRIVER 5/16" square Shank Keystone Slotted Screwdriver.

The Vaco Bull Driver is an American classic. It features an oversized amber acetate Comfordome handle with "made in USA" cast into it. The square shank blade is 10" long with a slotted ( keystone tip ) . This allowed mechanics to slide an open-ended wrench onto the shaft of the screwdriver to get massive mechanical leverage on frozen or rusted screws.

Bull driver was a literal description of how the tool performed based on two main factors:

  • Animal Imagery for Raw Power: In American marketing during the 1950s and 60s, the "bull" was the ultimate symbol of brute strength, toughness, and stubborn durability. Vaco wanted mechanics and industrial workers to know that these tools could handle the most stubborn, seized screws without snapping or stripping.

  • The "Bull-Sized" Handle: The core selling point of the Bull Driver line was its oversized Comfordome handle, which Vaco engineered to be 35% larger than standard screwdriver handles of the era. Because the handle was so large, it gave the user an incredible amount of hand leverage, delivering up to 50% extra turning power (torque) with much less physical effor
