It is b\u003cspan\u003euilt from cast iron and steel and  finished in a green enamel paint —featuring a notched vertical stem and a heavy threaded screw clamp.The paint on the stem is chipped from being packed in the box with the cast-iron collar beside it . The collar  was loose and had damaged the paint . There are also a few small spots of discoloration or oxidation. Please see the close-ups. Unlike traditional friction holdfasts, it secures workpieces using a mechanical screw mechanism locked into a specialized base.
