The original cellophane wrapping on the stone has started to perish but the stone is perfect and new. The stone still retains its original paper label beneath the cellophane. \u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\n\u003cmeta charset=\"UTF-8\"\u003e\n\u003cspan data-subtree=\"aimfl,mfl\"\u003eThe Mesuki whetstone is a large , Coarse Grit Japanese Waterstone\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e— measuring about 8  x 2 1\/2  x 2 inches made in the 1980's in Japan. It is designed for heavy edge repair, resetting bevels, or removing chips and deep wear from knives and tools. This stone is new old stock . The box is in good but lightly scuffed condition from years of warehouse storage. The original paper label is still on the face of the stone.
